Feng Shui influences determine how people are going to react; which is so important when it comes to selling a home! The flow of the house, the lack of personal items, even the smell of the home gives the buyer the freedom to picture themselves in that home. These are all factors already taken into consideration when staging a home to sell; however, they also happen to be key components of Feng Shui.
Throughout my years as an award-winning Home Staging Expert, I studied under a Feng Shui Master. The more I studied, the more I understood how to effectively combine the Art of Feng Shui into my staging designs and shift and feel the power of connection between life and space.
Here are a few simple shifts for your home can make a big difference:
1 Eliminate clutter
When you are living in a space that is surrounded by clutter (whether you notice the clutter consciously or not), it pulls on you. It “chokes” your forward movement and your creativity. It is always demanding to be dealt with which has a draining effect on you.
Clearing clutter isn’t always easy, but all you really have to do is commit some time to clearing it. If you don’t love a particular item in your home - get rid of it! If you can eliminate of even half the unnecessary stuff (the clutter) in your home and office, you'll feel tremendously lighter.
2 Fix what's broken
Having broken things in your home is not good Feng Shui. Broken items do not belong in your home. Your space is a mirror of you, and the state of the items in your surroundings is powerful influence of your emotional state. When you are surrounded by broken objects, consequently looking at things that don’t function, you ingest that fragmentation. You begin to feel that negative energy and the vitality of those damaged items make us feel bad about ourselves. The more time these broken items spend in a space, the negative energy will linger until you to attend to fixing whatever it might be.
3 Add Plants
Nature is a dynamic expression of unlimited wealth and abundance. By adding lush energy of nature in your home will help you attract the same quality of energy. Bamboo, money plant and orchids. Know that decorating your home with lush, green happy plants in good looking, solid pots is an excellent Feng Shui wealth magnet. East, Southeast and South areas are the most greenery loving Feng Shui areas in your home. You'll feel the difference and love your space.
4 Feng Shui Images
Images can be very powerful, very meaningful; which can be great with expressing a desired quality of energy when the real objects are not available. For example, you might not want plants in your space due to the maintenance, but you can always go for images of lush energy. No constant care needed there - always fresh! High quality wall murals work wonders in most spaces.
5 Add Mirrors
Let’s not forget about mirrors. Mirrors are the absolute must have in Feng Shui for so many reasons! They bring more light, joy and the energy of the water Feng Shui element into any space. Mirrors also create beautiful pathways for new and joyful opportunities, just be sure to go for the best mirrors you can find; the ones that your heart adores and your room looks good in. Golden framing is the best choice for a mirror as a wealth Feng Shui cure.
